About Us

Our Story

Dheemahi word meaning is we meditate upon the supreme knowledge or intellect. The word literally holds the essence of Vedas, the foundation of Ayurveda. Ayurveda is a division of the Atharva Veda, one of the 4 Vedas Rig, Yajur, Sama and Atharva Vedas.

Dheemahi Ayurveda was co-founded by Dr Jayakrishan and Dr Namitha under the guidance and support of Dr Girish and Dr Padmadevi as per the tradition of opening their own centre after finishing the formal medical education and training under the previous generation of Doctors.

Each generation had their own Ayurveda centres or place of practice; Ayyapan Pillia Vaidyan and his predecessors used to practice in Kalari- the teaching place for young Ayurveda Vaidyas (Doctors). SNV Vaidyashala (1921) by Late VK Madhavan Pillai Vaidyan, Balakrishna Pharmacy (1960) by Late Dr V R Balakrishnan Nair, now run by Dr Girish, Athreya Ayurveda (1996) by Dr Girish and Dr Padmadevi, now run by Dr Jayalakshmi and Dr Sreejit.
